For the market in the second quarter, steel mills believed that the situation would be worse than that in the first quarter. Therefore, the implementation of the second quarter by local mills depends on the procurement cost of raw materials.

Prices in the global market fluctuated rapidly. As long as there is a profit margin for the order, the mills must purchase, produce, and dispatch as soon as possible to reduce inventory time and financial pressure.

Regarding the European and North American markets, market participants consider that the buying momentum in the US is better, and steel mills have recently increased the prices of hot-rolled coils (HRC). However, the US election and interest rate cuts might cause the market to be uncertain. Besides, European buyers lacked confidence, so the market was not as good as previously expected.
