Russian steelmaker Severstal will be focusing their efforts on the North European Gas Pipeline. The energy giant Gazprom is one of Severstal’s major buyers and also the project manager for the pipeline project that will link Russia and Northern Europe via the Baltic Sea floor. Construction of the $10.5 billion project consisting of two parallel pipelines of 750 miles each, started last year. The pipeline will use 18 meter length with 1.42 meter diameter of pipes. Severstal will launch a new plant in St. Petersburg near Kolpino soon for these large diameter pipes. (May 18)
