Russia’s steel manufacturer, Severstal, has signed a contract with Danieli, Italia’s metallurgical equipment manufacturer in order to install a new long-rolling mill at its main production plant in Cherepovets. The new facility was scheduled to start at the end of 2022.

It was understood that the company's current capacity of the long product was about 2 million tons, and the output of billet was only about 1 million tons.

Moreover, this new rolling production line could produce 1 million tons of 5.5-32 mm wire and bar every year, as well as 8-16 mm quenched rebars. It was expected that this new production line would eventually replace part of Severstal's long products production plants.
