According to data from the Russian Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat), in the first eight months of this year, Russia’s pig iron output decreased by 3% year on year, reaching 34.6 million tons.

In August alone, Russia’s pig iron production was 4.3 million tons, dropping by 0.5% from the same month last year but increasing by 2.8% month on month.

In terms of alloy and non-alloy steel products, the production from Russia was 5.87 million tons in August, dropping by 1.3% compared with the same month last year and falling by 6% from the previous month. The production in the first eight months of this year totaled 48.7 million tons, down by 6% year on year.
