Although limited by trade protection measures, the Russian mining group Severstal continued to seek opportunities to export to the US, the EU, and Turkey. The group's head of corporate strategy Maxim Semenovykh mentioned that global steel demand was optimistic except Turkey.

In addition, the northern Europe and western Europe were the target export markets for Severstal Group. The exports of semi-finished products and rolled products to Europe from January to September this year accounted for 66% of Severstal Group's total exports.

Dmitry Gorshkov, Severstal Management Marketing Director, mentioned that in addition to hot-rolled coils (HRC), the company also focused on exporting other steel products, such as hot-dip galvanized steel, color coated steel and other steel products.

Meanwhile, the company also sought new opportunities to export to some countries such as the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Severstal's exports to the CIS from January to September this year accounted for 15% of the total, making it the second largest key market for the group.
