At the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, OMK Group, one of the biggest pipeline manufacturers in Russia, demonstrated the country's first bimetallic tee for pipelines transporting corrosive media.

The outer layer of the bimetallic tee is made of carbon steel and the inner layer is made of stainless steel. The combination of carbon and stainless steel gives pipes complex mechanical properties and corrosion resistance that are difficult to achieve in a single metal.

The pipeline fitting will be used to transport petroleum products with high hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide content. It will significantly extend the service life of the pipeline and reduce the number of repairs.
