Reportedly, Japan’s Nippon Steel and Sumikin Metal have announced to set up a joint venture for steel reinforcement and construction in China’s Jiangsu Province.

It’s known that the new firm will turn procured steel sheet into cold formed steel sheet piling, an interlocking material commonly used in rural and urban waterways with an annual production capacity of 100 thousand tons.

Accordingly, production capacity will be lifted to 150 thousand tons from current 10 thousand tons under this movement.

Recently, china market of steel piling, including hot-formed variety used in large scale projects, has amount to 300 thousand~400 thousand tons per year, from which cold formed steel piling has account for 30 thousand to 50 thousand tons of consumption.
