Mexican tube maker Tubacero is under trial run and tests stage for its new tube plant in the Interpuerto Monterrey logistics park.

The US$120 million budge facility has capacity of 180,000 tons per year for welded tube and set to have commercial production in two-three weeks or no later than early January, according to the CEO.

It will produce helical welded tubes of diameters greater than 20 inches, adding the new capacity.

Tubacero will elevate its total capacity to 800,000 tons per year of welded tube from seven units.
