Taiwan's stainless steel prices for April were expected to be announced this week, and market participants expected a sharp increase, causing buyers and sellers to wait and see and trading to slow down.

Indonesia Tsingshan raised its prices by about US$100 in total in March, and the current cost has increased by more than US$110 compared to the previous month. Therefore, market participants estimated that stainless steel upstream mills may raise their prices by NT$4,000/ton, while the actual price will be revised due to market acceptance.

The recent circulation market prices have risen ahead of schedule, with some mills raising prices by about NT$2,500-3,000/ton. Although price increases are inevitable for steel mills, some market participants call on the increase to be moderate so as not to affect buying.
