Statistics released by the Indonesian Statistics Bureau on Monday showed that Indonesia ’s nickel ore exports in November totaled 2.7 million tons with a value of around US$112 million.

Last year, Indonesia’s nickel ore exports reached 1.5 million tons.

Data also showed that in the first 11 months of this year, Indonesia exported about 29 million tons of nickel ore with a value of US$978 million.

Indonesia was the world's largest nickel ore exporter and would suspend nickel ore exports from next month. Indonesia, the largest economy in Southeast Asia, would implement the nickel ore export ban two years earlier than originally planned and the country would increase its efforts to develop the domestic processing industry.
