After India announced to impose 20% on steel imports safeguard measures, the country steel wire rod manufacturers would face a shortage of 500,000 metric tons of imported steel wires.

The shortages of imported steel may result in wire manufacturing industry decline in capacity utilization, unless the government to re-measure import tariff and withdrawal of imports safeguard measures to protect domestic steel mills.
