Transition Metals in the UK lost some production of ferro titanium output after a fire caused damage at the Sheffield plant. The damage to the plant is only minimal and some 25 tons of titanium turnings were destroyed in the fire. No one was injured in the accident. As speculative as the market can be like crude oil, one small mishap of production disruption also sends ripples through the ferro titanium market and this will cause the price to move higher. Ferro titanium traded at $19 to 21 per kilogram on Friday, down from the range of $20 to 23 per kilogram. (Nov. 12)
