According to the European Steel Association (Eurofer) said that the European Union is expected to benefit from the recent strong economic activity, this year's European steel demand will expect to increase by 2.5%.

The growth in Central Europe is likely to be the fastest, and if Poland has benefited from infrastructure, South Europe has contributed more to demand growth, and Spanish steel demand has rebounded from its low.

In June 2016, the EU decided to levy 19.8-22.1% anti-dumping duties on imports of
cold rolled steel products. If China exports to the EU continue to increase, perhaps the European Commission may to increase anti-dumping tax rate from China’s cold rolled steel imports
