The European Commission (EC) announced the findings of the anti-circumvention investigation R777 against stainless steel from Malaysia, finding the circumvention of the definitive anti-dumping (AD) duty imposed on China's stainless steel tube or pipe fittings, whether or not finished, has happened via Malaysia.

Therefore, the definitive AD duty imposed on imports of certain stainless steel tube and pipe butt-welding fittings originating in China was extended to those products consigned from Malaysia, whether declared as originating in Malaysia or not.

This extended duty is the AD duty of 64.9% for all other companies from China and only two companies are exempted from this anti-circumvention case.

In addition, the EU will also soon announce the final ruling of the anti-circumvention case against hot-rolled stainless steel originating in Indonesia and delivered via Turkey.
