China's crude steel output increases in Q1 y-o-y

According to the latest data released by China's National Bureau of Statistics, in March 2025, China's crude steel output reached 92.8 million tons, showing a modest year-on-year growth of 4.6%. Pig iron production totaled 75.3 million tons, representing a 3.1% increase compared to March 2024. The most significant growth was seen in steel products, which reached 134.4 million tons, an 8.3% year-on-year increase.

From January to March, China's crude steel output was 259.3 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.6%; pig iron output was 216.3 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.8%; and steel output was 358.7 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 6.1%.
