It was reported that strike happened at Congonhas site of Brazilian mining company Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional(CSN), but iron ore production was not affected.

CSN mentioned that all mining sectors currently maintain operations and standard of iron ore production.

It is understood that CSN workers demanded higher wages and benefits, and launched indefinite strike on September 9th. Under the premise of increasing company operations and financial performance, union representatives demanded 7.5% increase in wages to compensate workers for all losses in recent years.

From January to June this year, CSN iron ore production increased by 9%, and the first quarter gross profit increased by 21%.
