According to the report, Australian BHP Group was impacted by cyclone Veronica last week on its iron ore production by around 6 million to 8 million tons.

BHP is the biggest miner in the world, an Anglo-Australian multinational mining, metals and petroleum dual-listed public company with headquarter located in Melbourne, Australia.

In 2018, BHP produced 275 million tons of iron ore, and its 2019 target output was 273 million to 283 million tons.

Western Australia was impacted by the Cyclone, thus BHP’s production in 2019 financial year and unit cost guidance were being investigated. Its operation in Port Hedland also slowed down and not able to resume to normal capacity this month.
