BENTELER Steel/Tube decided to close its welded pipe production plant in Rothrist, Switzerland at the end of 2023, due to the tense global welded tube market caused by export restrictions, the continued high production costs, and the decreasing demand.

The Rothrist plant has around 300 employees. It mainly produces welded drawn tubes for the industrial and automotive sectors. It is now striving to shorten the period of uncertainty for the workforce as well as it can.
