According to report, mining company African Minerals said it would cut the estimate of iron ore sales for 2011 since its mine equipment at its Sierra Leone project was redeployed to build port and railway infrastructure.

Now the company sees its iron ore sales will be 1.2 million tons, down from the original estimate of 2.5 million.

However, the company still said its iron ore shipment was on track to ship the first iron ore from the Tonkolili project in the fourth quarter.

The Tonkoliki project is expected to be fully commissioned in the first quarter in 2012 with annual capacity of 15 million tons.
