Columbus Stainless to increase production output

Columbus Stainless of South Africa plans to increase its CR capacity to 600,000 tons/year by adding a new CR mill.

Last year, the company planned to raise its CR capacity to 500,000 tons/year. However, adding this new mill, the capacity is expected to reach 600,000 tons/year.

Columbus produced 640,000 tons of HRC and 360,000 tons of CRC, and it plans to produce thin gauge bright annealed products in the new mill and operate by the end of 2008..
