Japan's export of stainless steel declines in August

Japanese export of stainless steel in August amounted to 100,000 tons, declining by 24 percent compared to the same period of last year. It is also reduced by 7.5 percent from last month.

The export price on average in August was at US$4,368/ton, down by 2.4 percent from that of July. The export to the China and South Korea are decreased by 40.2 percent and 61.7 percent respectively. But the export to Thailand increased by 16.5 percent. The total export value of stainless steel amounted to around US$436 million.
