China’s stainless output up by 68% in 2006

According to the Stainless Steel Council of China Special Steel Enterprises Association, the stainless output in China has soared to 5.3 million tons in 2006, up by 68 percent.
The statistics showed that the stainless 300 series accounted for 62 percent to 3.3 million tons of total production, 400 series accounted for 22.3 percent at 1.19 million tons and 200 series made up 15.3 percent for 811,000 tons.
For the output figures on different kinds of products, stainless cold rolled coil and sheet with width over and equal to 600 mm has increased to 520,000 tons, wide coil and sheet has reached at 2.44 million tons and strip has rose to 435,000 tons.
