US President Trump and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced a new trade agreement on Thursday, lifting some US tariffs on British goods. The deal grants US companies greater access for agricultural and industrial products, including beef, ethanol, chemicals, and machinery, valued at US$5 billion.

Notably, it removes the 25% tariff on British steel and aluminum and significantly reduces car tariffs from 27.5% to 10%. However, the 10% baseline tariffs on most British imports remain.

Starmer praised the deal as essential to protecting UK businesses after Brexit, marking Britain as the first nation to secure such an agreement with the US. Trump said this is the first of many trade agreements.
