The Australian Anti-Dumping Commission has initiated a second sunset review on anti-dumping duties concerning steel reinforcing bar (rebar) imported from China. The investigation follows an application by InfraBuild (Newcastle) Pty Ltd.

The investigation period spans April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, while the injury examination period is from April 1, 2020.

A report of statement of essential facts is expected by August 25, 2025, with the final recommendation due to the Minister for Industry and Science by October 7, 2025.

The products involved are hot-rolled deformed steel reinforcing bars, in or out of coil form, with diameters up to 50mm. This includes all such rebar with indentations, ribs, grooves, or other rolling deformations, regardless of grade, alloy content, or coating.
