On April 15, 2025, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission finalized anti-dumping (AD) duties on hot rolled structural steel sections from Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and Taiwan.

Japan faces a 15.8% AD duty. South Korean exporters receive different duty rates, with Hyundai Steel facing 6.8%, while all other South Korean exporters will be subject to a 12.5% levy. Thailand's duty is 5.7%. Taiwan’s duties are 7.0% for Dragon Steel and 10.8% for others, while Feng Hsin Steel, TS Steel, and Tung Ho Steel are exempt from the measure.

The decision aims to protect Australian steelmakers from unfairly priced imports following a review of dumping practices.
