The Department of Finance Canada announced the latest measures, including a tariff remission framework for the automotive industry for production in Canada and a tariff exemption on import commodities from the US for six months, alleviating the tariff pressures suffered by domestic industries recently. 

They have established a performance-based exemption framework for the automotive industry to stimulate automotive manufacturers to remain in Canada and invest. Given the integrated nature of the North American automotive industry, Canada will allow automakers still manufacturing there to import a certain number of US-assembled, CUSMA-compliant vehicles, free of the countermeasure tariffs imposed by Canada. 

Besides, Canada's Finance Department also announced a six-month tariff exemption on US-imported goods used in Canadian manufacturing, processing, food packaging, and to support public health, safety, and national security.
