According to the report from Baker Hughes, in the week ending on April 11, 2025, the US rig count fell by seven to 583 units compared to the previous week. Among them, the number of drilling rigs for natural gas went up by one to 97 units, and that for oil fell by nine to 480 units. The total number had a year-on-year decline of 34 units.

During the same period, Canada’s rig count dropped by 15 to 138 units from the previous week, including 91 oil rigs (down by eight week on week) and 47 gas rigs (down by seven week on week). Canada’s rig number fell by three units compared to the same period a year ago.
