US’ steel scrap exports grow in Feb m-o-m

According to the latest data from the US International Trade Commission (USITC), the US exported around 1.06 million tons of steel scrap in February, rising by 2.1% from January while sliding by 15% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, Turkey was the top destination with roughly 307,000 tons, up by 8.7% month on month but falling by 34% from a year earlier. Other key markets included Mexico (175,000 tons), India (174,000 tons), and Bangladesh (101,000 tons).

In the month, these exports were worth around US$431 million, up by 3.5% month on month and down by 22.4%.
