According to India's state-owned mining company NMDC Steel Limited, its steel plant in Chhattisgarh, central India, produced more than 2 million tons of crude steel in fiscal year 2024-25, and with 1.45 million tons annual sales of hot-rolled steel plates and coils, marking the first full year of operation of its new 3 million tons per annum steel plant.

The steel mill is designed to produce 3 million tons of steel per year. Data showed that the output achieved in fiscal year 2024-25 was almost double the 966,468 tons of crude steel produced by the plant during the first seven-and-a-half months of operation in the 2023-24 fiscal year.
