Italian engineering firm Tenova has signed an agreement with Indonesia’s PT Tata Metal Lestari to supply a new hot-dip galvanizing line (HDGL) for the company’s Sadang plant.
The new production line will have an annual capacity of 250,000 tons and will be capable of processing aluminum-zinc, aluminum-zinc-magnesium, and zinc-aluminum-magnesium coated coils.
Tenova, a subsidiary of the Techint Group, specializes in providing solutions for the metals and mining industries. PT Tata Metal Lestari, part of the global steel group Tatalogam, is a leading manufacturer of premium pre-painted steel products.
With this new project, PT Tata Metal Lestari aims to become Indonesia’s top producer of aluminum-zinc-magnesium alloy coated steel coils, positioning itself as a benchmark for Western markets. The investment is expected to enhance the company’s market presence and support the growing demand for high-quality coated steel in the region.
