Brazil’s wire rod exports soar in Dec 2024 m-o-m

According to statistics, Brazil’s wire rod exports totaled nearly 37,000 tons in December last year, surging by 324% compared to the preceding month.

Among them, exports were mainly to the US, with around 29,000 tons, followed by 3,200 tons to the Dominican Republic and 2,800 tons to countries in South America. The supply from ArcelorMittal accounted for the largest share, totaling roughly 32,000 tons.

During the same period, Brazil’s wire rod imports reached approximately 19,000 tons, a month-on-month increase of 40%. Among them, China was the biggest import source with roughly 12,000 tons, and Egypt ranked second with 5,000 tons.
