Turkey’s wire rod exports grow in Jan-Nov 2024, with increased export value

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) statistics showed that Turkey's wire rod exports reached approximately 793,000 tons in the first 11 months of 2024, marking an increase of 30% compared to the same timeframe a year ago. The export value also rose by 25% year on year, totaling around US$486 million.

Romania was the top destination for these exports, receiving about 238,000 tons, which represented a remarkable year-on-year increase of 56%. Australia came in second with around 72,500 tons, experiencing a rise of 95% compared to the previous year. Bulgaria ranked third, importing 67,000 tons, a 171% year-on-year surge.

In November alone, Turkey exported about 26,500 tons of wire rods, a decline of 14% from the previous month and a 71% drop from the same month of the previous year. The export value for November fell by 69% month on month and by 13% year on year, amounting to roughly US$16 million.
