McDermott opens welding and technology center in Dubai

McDermott, a US-based engineering and construction solutions provider for energy infrastructure, has opened a 4,100-square-meter welding and technology center in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Freezone.

The facility centralizes pipeline development expertise, offering welding, pipeline coating, non-destructive testing, equipment management, production simulation, and targeted R&D initiatives. Advanced vessel simulation technology enhances safety, efficiency, and global project performance.

Mike Sutherland, senior vice president for Offshore Middle East, highlighted the company's role in driving the development of pipeline manufacturing and delivering cost-effective solutions worldwide.
