According to the report from Baker Hughes, in the week ending on December 20, 2024, the US rotary rig count kept flat week on week at 589 units. Among them, the number of drilling rigs for natural gas fell by one to 102 units, and that for oil hiked by one to 483 units. The total number had a year-on-year decline of 31 units.

During the same period, Canada’s rig count dropped by 25 to 166 units from the previous week, including 110 oil rigs and 56 gas rigs. Canada’s rig number rose by 20 compared to the same period a year ago.
