According to statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of China, the output of crude steel in China totaled 78.4 million tons in November, falling by 4.3% compared to the previous month while increasing by 2.5% from the same period a year ago.

The cumulative crude steel output in the first 11 months amounted to 929.2 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.7%.

Overall, it is almost certain that China's crude steel output will decline year on year this year. The annual output is expected to reach around 1 billion tons, but it will be at least 20 million tons lower than the revised 1.028 billion tons from last year.
