According to statistics from the Russian Special Steel and Alloys Consumers and Suppliers Association (USSA), Russia imported around 227,000 tons of stainless steel in the first six months of this year, falling by nearly 4% compared to the corresponding period a year earlier.

Among them, imports of cold-rolled stainless steel decreased by 0.7%, hot-rolled stainless steel fell by 12%, welded pipes hiked by 31%, seamless pipes decreased by 18%, wire dropped by 38%, and long products rose by 0.7%.

Russia’s stainless steel imports from China accounted for the largest proportion, about 73% of the total.
