Due to the planned shutdown of steel mills and longer delivery, the price of hot-rolled coil (HRC) in the US Midwest market increased slightly this week, with a weekly increase of approximately 3.19%.

It was understood that the delivery time of HRC has been extended, and the market is preparing for production shutdown in the third quarter and the fourth quarter, indicating that the price trend may rise.

However, actual demand remains weak, and previous offers for most purchases were still valid. Coupled with the economic and political uncertainty in the US, which has suppressed demand for HRC, it has also hindered the motivation for price increases.
