According to data from the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in the first nine months, the import value of French basic steel products and ferroalloys totaled EUR 8.4 billion, decreasing by 18.3% year on year. During the same period, the import value of French steel pipes amounted to EUR 1.64 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 10.1%. The cold-rolled steel bar and cold-rolled steel strip’s import values were EUR 423 million and 672 million, dropping by 12.5% and 22.2% year on year, respectively.

On the contrary, from January to September, France’s basic steel products and ferroalloys export value was EUR 8.12 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 24.6%. Meanwhile, the import value of French steel pipe amounted to EUR 1.03 billion, a year-on-year increase of 2.5%. The cold-rolled steel bar and cold-rolled steel strip’s import values were EUR 434 million and 501 million, increasing by 0.3% but decreasing by 4.5% year on year, respectively.
