The European Council adopted a position on the Net-zero Industry Act. The main aim of the proposal is to accelerate the industrial deployment of key technologies needed for the EU to move towards carbon neutrality. It is a positive sign to include transformative industrial technologies to decarbonize energy-intensive industries.

By 2030, the EU will locally produce 40% of the net-zero technology products it needs and set out a specific target for CO2 carbon capture and storage, with an annual injection capacity of at least 50 million tons of CO2 to be achieved. In addition, the implementation of this Act will enhance the resilience of the European economy and maintain the competitiveness of European industry.
