According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in the ten months of this year, Turkey's hot-rolled coil (HRC) imports totaled around 3.7 million tons, rising by 5.8% compared to the corresponding period a year ago. The import volume was worth around US$2.5 billion during the period, a year-on-year decrease of 17%.

Among them, the top three import sources were China (around 1.33 million tons, a year-on-year surge of 157%), Russia (around 582,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 44%), and Japan (around 572,000 tons, a year-on-year jump of 130%).

In October alone, Turkey imported roughly 298,000 tons of HRC, down by 8% month on month and up by 29% year on year. The import value was approximately US$194 million, a month-on-month decrease of 8% and a year-on-year growth of 31%.
