According to the preliminary Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US' rebar imports amounted to around 95,000 tons in October this year, surging by 71% compared to the previous month and falling by 9.4% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, the imports from Egypt occupied the largest share, totaling roughly 33,000 tons, a month-on-month hike of 31%, and the volume in October last year was zero. Other primary import sources included Mexico (17,000 tons), Bulgaria (15,000 tons), and Algeria (14,300 tons).

During the period, the value generated by these imports was around US$57 million, rising by 67.7% month on month and down by 26.2% year on year.
