China Steel Corporation (CSC), the largest carbon steel manufacturer in Taiwan, is scheduled to announce its prices of wire rods for January on December 14.

Although the demand has not improved, the raw material prices keep increasing. Taiwan's dollar appreciated by 0.5 against the US dollar, which might reduce the cost of importing raw materials.

Most of China's steel mills increased the prices for December. In considering the competitiveness of downstream customers in Taiwan, CSC might not increase its price too much. It was expected that CSC might raise the price by NT$500-1,000/ton for January.
