According to data from Japan’s customs, in October, Japan’s scrap exports reached about 697,000 tons, increasing by 6.1% from the same month a year ago. In the first ten months, Japan’s scrap exports amounted to about 5.8 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 8.7%. During the period, South Korea imported most of Japan’s scrap, falling by 11.9% year on year to about 2.3 million tons. The following were Vietnam and Taiwan, with 1.3 million tons and about 827,000 tons, respectively.
