India will keep its industries up with the country's greenhouse emissions reduction target, cutting its ratio of greenhouse emissions by 2030 to 45% of its 2005 GDP level and to net zero by 2070.

It was understood that India will set carbon emission reduction targets for four industries, including petrochemicals, iron and steel, cement, and pulp and paper.

From April 2025, the previously said four industries will likely be the first ones in India's carbon trading market to buy and sell carbon credits to achieve their goals.

The Indian Parliament gave the green light to carbon credits trading on the carbon market last December. Companies that exceed their targets can earn carbon credits and credits can be sold to those which can't meet their goals.
