India’s LMEL starts operations of new DRI manufacturing plant in Maharashtra

Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited (LMEL), an Indian direct reduced iron (DRI) producer and the largest merchant iron ore miner in Maharashtra, has successfully installed and started operations of a DRI manufacturing plant in Gadchiroli district, Maharashtra.

The plant has an annual rated capacity of 70,000 tons and is equipped with a 4MW Waste Heat Recovery Boiler (WHRB)-based power plant.

The project was completed within just 13 months after receiving the Environmental Clearance from the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority of Maharashtra.
