US' cold-rolled bar imports decline in Jul m-o-m, y-o-y

According to statistics from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), in July of 2023, the US imported about 10,000 tons of cold-rolled bars, 9.8% less compared with the previous month and 13.7% less compared to the same period of 2022.

Italy, which exported a total of around 3,500 tons of cold-rolled bars to the US, was the largest supplier in July. The second was Germany (around 1,700 tons), followed by Mexico (1,500 tons) and China (1,100 tons).

The total value of these imports was calculated as US$20.3 million, less than the value in the previous month (US$22 million) and that in the same period of last year (US$22.4 million).
