According to data from Mexico's National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), the total output value of the basic steel industry and steel product manufacturing industry has been on a continuous decline for 12 years as of July.

In particular, the basic steel industry saw a year-on-year decrease of 36.6%, while the steel product manufacturing industry experienced a year-on-year decline of 15.5%.

The combined output value of these two major industries amounted to MXN 40.73 billion.
