Taiwan’s Yusco & Tang Eng expected to hike stainless steel prices for Oct

Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco) and Tang Eng Iron Works Co., Ltd., two leading stainless steel upstream manufacturers in Taiwan, will announce their prices for October this week. It was expected that the price for 300 series products might be raised for the third month to reflect the high costs of nickel pig iron, other alloys, and operations, as well as the depreciated Taiwan dollar.

According to market participants, after entering the second half of the year, the stainless steel market benefited from the Chinese central bank's interest rate cuts and China’s policies to expand and resume consumption. In spite of the current weak demand, an increase of NT$1,000/ton in prices for October was expected.
