According to statistics from Taiwan Customs, Taiwan imported around 1.1 million tons of ferrous scrap in the first four months of this year, hiking by 13.5% compared to the same period a year ago.

Among them, the imports from the US occupied the largest share of around 407,500 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 6%. Japan ranked second with 286,400 tons, a year-on-year surge of 101%.

In April alone, Taiwan’s ferrous scrap imports totaled approximately 311,100 tons, down by 3.8% month on month and up by 17% year on year.
