China’s stainless steel imports & exports decrease in Feb m-o-m, y-o-y

According to statistics from China’s customs, in February, China’s stainless steel imports were about 187,000 tons, decreasing by 24.47% month on month and plunging by 41.72% year on year. Among them, the imports from Indonesia were about 150,000 tons, registering a month-on-month increase of 45% and a year-on-year drop of 47.1%.

At the same time, China exported stainless steel with about 253,000 tons, a month-on-month and a year-on-year decrease of 30.69% and 10.22%, respectively.

In the first two months of 2023, China’s stainless steel imports were about 338,000 tons, plunging by 108.78% year on year. Meanwhile, the exports were 618,000 tons, declining by 9.46% from the same period of last year.
